Bio Brief
Emma grew up on her family’s commercial cow-calf operation in Northern California, where she developed a passion for agriculture through active involvement in 4-H and FFA. She earned a B.S. in Animal Science from California State University, Fresno, an M.S. in Animal Science from Colorado State University with a focus on animal breeding and genetics, and a Ph.D. in Animal Science from Oklahoma State University specializing in ruminant nutrition.
As an Assistant Professor and Beef Production Systems Scientist at Kansas State University’s Agricultural Research Center in Hays, Kansas, Emma conducts applied research using a cow herd and feedlot to support Kansas cattle producers. Her work focuses on improving beef cattle efficiency and adaptability to meet the evolving challenges of the livestock industry.
